Course Information for Phenom 300 Initial and Recurrent Type

Phenom 300 Initial

The Purpose and Intent of this course is an EMB-505 Initial Type Rating. Gulf Breeze Aviation can help you get there by doing thorough training from experts who have flown the aircraft for thousands of hours while exceeding FAA requirements in the process.  See a more detailed explanation of each part of the process below.  The timeline below is the average and can be extended or shortened based on applicant needs and experience.


Timeline for Initial 


  • Day 1-3 Ground Training on Systems 
  • Day 4-5 Ground preparation for Checkride and Practice Flights in Aircraft
  • Day 6 Checkride in Aircraft (approximately 3-3.5 hours oral and flight total)
  • NOTE: Timeline can be shortened or extended based on applicant needs and experience


PIC/SIC Initial Ground Training


This course is designed as a 4-day introduction of Phenom 300 systems and procedures for pilots new to the Phenom 300. It is based on technical information extracted from the manufacturer’s manuals and presented via a computer based interactive systems software program. The presentation is supplemented by a pilot training manual, slide pictures, and handouts. This course fulfills the requirements of an FAA Initial Type Rating in the EMB-505. With approval from an operators FAA principle operating inspector (POI) this could also satisfy FAR 135.293, 135.297, and 135.299 checks for charter operators.


PIC/SIC Initial Flight Training


The Initial Phenom 300 Flight Training is designed as a 3-day introduction flying the Phenom 300. The flight training maneuvers, and related procedures described herein will serve as the basis for standardized instruction and accomplishment of Initial Pilot flight training. They will also serve as guidelines to achieve the highest possible level of proficiency and provide safe operation of the aircraft. All procedures and techniques are in compliance with the AFM and FAA publication FAA-S-ACS-11. At no time during flight training will the limitations of the aircraft be intentionally exceeded, or maneuvers

conducted that would jeopardize safety. This course fulfills the requirements of FAR 61.55 for SIC’s and FAR 61.58 for PIC’s.

The Recurrent Training Course is designed to ensure the PIC is adequately trained and

currently proficient. This course is designed as a 2-day review of Phenom 300 in-flight

procedures for Phenom 300 experienced pilots. It fulfills the requirements of FAR 61.55 for

SIC’s and FAR 61.58 for PIC’s. With approval from an operators FAA principle operating

inspector (POI) this could also satisfy FAR 135.293, 135.297, and 135.299 checks for

charter operators.

Can a Gulf Breeze Instructor accomplish IOE or mentor flying with me once training is complete?

Absolutely! Our instructors are happy to help provide Initial Operating Experience to meet insurance requirements or personal comfort as you build experience in the Phenom 300.

My insurance requires simulator experience, can I still train with Gulf Breeze Aviation?

We have experts in the insurance world who are happy to help with this. Two options we have: some providers just simply by reaching out will know of our program or with our documentation we can provide agree our program exceeds their requirements in providing high quality training. Option two, some providers will allow for alternating year options, (one year sim, one year in aircraft training). Reach out to us on this, we are happy to work this out with your operation and insurance provider.
